Image 1: The Parliament from across the street If my review on the guided tour of the Indian parliament could be summed up in one word, it would be 'circle'. Me and my friends kept going around in circles trying to secure a visitor's pass to an institution of those we elected, and we adjudged the visitor friendliness of some of the staff we encountered to be a colossal zero. On the positive side, we appreciated the symmetry of the complex, which much like New Delhi as a whole, is made up of circles and semicircles (just see an aerial photo), and we admired how closely knit a circle the security and staff are, unified by their committed to their work and still in remembrance of those whom they lost in the terrorist attack of 2001. The Romance of Khajuraho

A dazzling array of sculptures They are the glories of medieval India. Built by the Chandela kings in the 10th and 11th centuries CE, their mastery on architecture and sculpture shines through. The Chandelas' power declined and the temples fell into disuse, neglected, but also largely protected from invaders because of geographic isolation. Today, they're famous on our shores and beyond, for the most part as the 'Kama Sutra temples'. But they're about much more than eroticism. The temples celebrate all aspects of life - intimacy being an integral part, but not the defining aspect. Most importantly, they stand unashamedly proud in a society that's becoming increasingly squeamish and puritanical. My visit was long in the works and every bit worth it. Diu: The unexplored part of Portuguese India

White sand beaches, calm seas, quiet roads, quaint cottages and the glorious ruins of a Portuguese colonial past. You may think you're in an unexplored corner of Goa, but you would be 1400 km off track. Welcome to Diu, a slice of idyll on the southern tip of Gujarat's Saurashtra peninsula. In an island territory of this size, everything scales down in proportions. We could glimpse almost all of Diu during the descent. Our toy-like ATR flight landed in the midst of the most spectacular setting. The dense vegetation swayed and the pristine beach competed with the blue sea, as if egging us to adjudge who shimmered the best. It was the smallest terminal building I'd seen and devoid of 'luxuries' like a baggage carousel. That's right, it's so small that they just drop your bags in a lot from where you pick it up.
